Oman SATS implemented Self Service KIOSK (SSK) in July-2020. This was a ground-breaking innovation that took our business to an ingenious level. Implementation of SSK led both Cargo handler (Oman SATS LLC) and Customers (Freight forwarders, Agents and Walk-in customers) to have a seamless process. The whole business process became very transparent and the customers were empowered to take control of their shipments which resulted in planning their business in an effective way.

- Convenience to perform self-transaction at the terminal for all customers including walk in customers
- Perform transactions with minimal/no data entry
- Pay charges in SSK using multiple payment modes – credit card. PD a/c and Credit
- Generate Pick Orders for Inspection/Delivery
- Customer can login using username and password but we revolutionized the old-school approach and implemented signing-in using unique QR code.
Benefits of SSK are –
- Convenience : eliminate waiting time at the counter. The usual waiting time before SSK implementation was 4-6mins for 1 shipment which means if he has 30+ shipments he had to wait for 2.5+ hours. With SSK the customer can complete transactions of 30+ shipments in less than 1 minute.
- Ease of access to information: all data including shipment status available in individual customer’s profile. This gave a clear view of the charges and status of the shipments.
- Lower costs : Reduction in manpower and associated costs by USD 100,000 per annum.
- Paperless environment – Usage of paper was drastically reduced where the invoices and pick orders are sent to their email address electronically.
